Breathing Into Alignment: An Invitation to Embodied Presence

Ah, sweet soul…let’s invite a sweet sigh in this very moment of sacred pause. Let the next inhale soften the edges. Let the next exhale release the noise underneath. Ah, a moment of softening. A moment of landing.

This beautiful breathing body. Remembering. It’s way home.

What a great joy to breathe! To be. To feel.

A moment of curiosity. Ah, feeling the breathing patterns. A rhythm! What a beautiful symphony!

Deep listening. Let’s have a moment to hear the current rhythm of your breathing.

Can you feel your heartbeat? The pulse. The echo. The hum. Ah, this aliveness. The quiet intelligence is being held and supported as you feel the earth underneath.

Perhaps close your eyes and let your entire being drop in. Feel your posture. Feel your alignment—not trying to correct or fix but inviting more ease. This is a moment of remembering your living story within.

Breathing into this sacred sensory vessel — the architecture of YOU.

Do you feel the little shifts within? Perhaps settling into this a moment of relaxation.

Let’s invite a sprinkle of awareness, shall we? Can you feel deeper into your body's physical sensations as your doorway to awakening? There’s something magical about this sense of feeling fully supported by your own physical structure. Can you feel your whole body breathing into alignment? A feeling of ease. Immersion of feeling fully alive. What a gift to have this direct experience!

I sincerely believe that the quality of our lives reflects the quality of our presence. And, the quality of our presence reflects the structure of our spine and breathing patterns.

Let’s pause for a moment, and invite the question from a recent client of mine:

“Why does my body feel stuck, and in pain?”

Well, let’s uncross the legs while I contemplate the origin of the dysfunctional pattern of repetition that most likely feels stuck or speaks to the pain in your body. Let’s look at your structural patterns and your daily habits. Let’s examine where you lost your mobility in your planes of movement. And, let’s look at your spine and spinal motions that bring your sense of feeling stuck, and bring more awareness to the pain body. Let’s examine your fatigue, discomfort, and pain as you pay attention to your entire body while moving—your legs, feet, spreading toes, your seat bones, and the muscle groups that are engaging as you move mindfully. And, let’s witness if your body is contracting or relaxing.

Let’s talk about your spinal alignment - when vertebrates, bones, joints, and connective tissues are in alignment and supported— the body moves freely, and the muscles release any unnecessary effort to hold or perform. There is a sense of ease in your nervous system which invites the body to settle deeper into relaxation. There is a sense of letting go. Perhaps, the flow is inviting the sense of feeling stuck to freely move. Perhaps, the pain body allows more breathing room for discomfort as you align your spine. Perhaps, inviting the current tension is the gateway to what a sense of relaxation might feel for a few moments in time and space.

Perhaps, inviting the questions allows you to tap into the body’s intelligence to hear the answers.

The current chronic disconnection from our bodies is real. The super fast-paced lifestyle, and endless distractions don’ttruly invite the question: “How’s your spinal alignment?”. The current state of feeling scattered, anxious, or numb doesn’twelcome the deeper insight of making postural shifts and is open to the possibilities of releasing physical tension so you don’t feel stuck in unhealthy physical movement patterns. However, the current state does have the invitation to be present to what is and have a choice to return to your breathing body. It does offer different choices to start and unwindyour nervous system. There’s also a gentle invitation to observe and notice the small moments: your feet on the ground, your shoulders softening on your next exhale, the unclenching of your jaw, the softness of your eyes when things feel uncertain…The gift of your breath and your awareness can shift everything.

And, here is the kicker as you breathe into alignment, move mindfully, and allow your body to gently speak as you explore the gifts of physical re-pattering and bringing your authenticity. Ah, now we are exploring the embodied presence. Now, we are reclaiming the freedom to move, to feel more alive, at ease, and peace.

So let’s recap in remembering the small opportunities that lay beneath the layers of tension, story, and survival. Let’s tune in and begin from within. Feel your feet. Pause. Smile. Yawn. Oh, YES: BREATHE. Feel the alignment. Feel the expansion of your heart. Feel the sense of coming home.

What a potent time to align, and invite loving awareness in each moment of this healing journey of being fully embodied, fully alive.

Thank you for your precious time and presence! May this sacred moment remind you of the sacredness of your spine. May your spirit and soul speak freely. One sacred breath at a time.

Until next time, feel free to reach out and share what would it feel like in your body — aligned, supported, and at ease. :o)

Deep bow to your peace,

Maggie
